german holiday - pt 2

after coming back from Praque we embarked on the second leg of our bavarian holiday. the DH drove us to our first stop. my first B&B. it's such a lovely place by Lake Weissensee but we got there after dark, which was 5 pm eh heh heh.

such a pretty bed
view outside the room. Weissensee
a romantic breakfast at the cottage. this is when we find the next room for the night.

so for most of the trip we stopped by little towns to have lunch and explore or shop. drive, eat, look, drive, stop, lookk, drive, eat, sleep. :P oh and book the room for the next night. yeah.

between the two fo us we're freckles heaven
Lake Bodensee (opposite the lake is switzerland)
see the snow capped mountains on the opposite bank? Switzerland!
as we drove inland we sighted more snow.. and it got more and more!

our second night was spent in the snow capped Black Forest. in october! there was a freak snow storm that swept across europe but only the mountainous had snow.

long but scenic drivesbtry ing to make sense of the infuriating GPRS system

cute little room in the black forest, night 3

not a beauty blog 2

my mao mao has the most gorgeous green eyes and i have been swatching green e/s for many weeks but none has met me expectations. but anyways. i swatched some Majo trick on in olivey green and LOOOOVE. it reminded me so much of my mao mao eyes.

here are the swatchs. the top green and from L to R accordingly.

all the browns match her fur. :))))) now all i need is a yellow. i use a gold to substitute. and if you notice the 2 doggies behind my arm, those will be my new projects from now.

something from the eighties, when i was in primary school! i was so excited to see them.

color me rainbow

let me just say that this is not going to turn into a beauty blog. i'm probably not going to put up pictures of the EOTD or FOTD. i'm talking about it now because it has become my current obsession. so much so that i have been reading beauty blogs for months.. since last year.. not sure when. i'm not even sure how i came across them but it has since accumulated to me buying a whole lot of samples from Meow Cosmetics. A LOT. i have been been interested in mineral makeup for a while but the drugstore brands always have talcum in them (me dun like) and i'm not about to invest in a whole pot since i have no idea which color foundation to choose. (i always find foundations prescribe to me a bit lighter than my neck, although i agree that my face is lighter than my neck since i use heavy duty sunblock)
to cut the long story short. Meow has 86 foundation shades! even better is that they sell them in 1USD samples. ah ha ha ha ! i selected almost all their range except for some cool/nuetral pink tones. (me is yella)

all the foundations and concealers are named after cat breeds. how cute is that! i have to get them. i got me some chartruex, manz, korat, abynissian, siamese, mau, sphynx, bengal and ocicat. some of these are probably going to be a but gray on me but what the heck, how many times will you be about to go to a counter and say,"can i have a pinch of that to try?"

also, check out their eyeshadows. they have so many to choose from. i showed the site to the DH (in china btw) and he immediately knows that i will buy something. :P
yes indeedy, i went berserk and selected like 20 over shades but i stopped myself shrt since i have never used any MMU before. in the end i narrowed it down to 14. it's still a lot. and i got them in puuurl and sparkle. no matt.. oooopps.
i was originally lemming for the 88 eyeshadow palatte. i'm a sucker for colors. it's like when i bought my caran d'Ache 120 color pencils i kept staring at them. i kept staring at the 88 eyeshadow palatte. it says,"buy me buy me buy me..." all the them. but i shall resist. i have bought MEOW! MEOW! MEOW!

which now gives me the excuse to get some more brushes from Beauty & Minerals. it's big, it's fluffy, most important of all it's PINK. i need me some flat top for my new minerals. eh heh heh heh.

these were introduced to me via Askmewhats. she also introduced these fabric panty liners to me. the shop also sells Mooncups! wOOt! i've been lemming after them.

i've actually already registered and have all that i want selected in the shopping cart. i just have not checked them out yet because i'm reluctant to spend any money. the reason will be revealed soon.

i went into a Dior quint obsession for a while. they feel so comfortable on me eyes, except that they tend to crease on the edge of my eyes especially the glittery stuff. which led to me looking and booking a Too Faced Shadow Insurance. in the meantime i got the invisible powder and the other glittery eye primer. to cut the long story short, i got all of that in 2 months. maybe that's not a lot to some of y'all but to me it is, since the DH also helped me haul a bunch from Etude last christmas

sunset with cows- German holiday Pt 1

i'm not a very good blogger am i? :P i guess it's because i am not really a multitasking person. or rather, my interests will wax and wane with time. i know that i never did blag about our glorious long holiday in Europe, or bits of it but i was walking home from my mum's today and i reminisced about the sunset and the sounds of cowbells in the Bavarian countryside. i really missed that and the romance of a pastoral life. to think that i've already come back from another holiday just this may. :P

we were in bits of europe for the longest time.. about 15 days in october of 2008. that's long in my account. we spent about 9 days in Munich and whilst the DH was having his training, i was exploring the town. i'll just recap some of my more memorable times.

of course one must not forget to mention all the lovely churches, all located around the Marienplatz. yes, i did managed to track down all the notable churches that was mentioned in the"Insight Guides". my favourite was the Assamkirche with all it OTT decorations.

i also had to climb up the St. Francis? church tower TWICE because the DH accidentally deleted all the photoes i took for the day. ( it included the all the lovely pictures of the churches and the view of most of Munchen.

view from top of St. Francis (at least i tihnk it is St. francis because apparently these photoes weren't labelled.)

one of my favourite and most exciting day was when i visited the Deutches Museum. no explanations needed but i have to say that i wished i got there earlier cos i spent about 6 hours there till they had to close and i have not even seen the entire left wing.
boats and ships and planes and rockets. all real!!

check out the pizza! too bad we didn't have any because we were going to meet some other people for pork knuckles, yummy!

the famous pork knuckle which we ate a lot of

i also fell in love with the trout. mmmm... i want some right now.

i collect a lot of these. i plan to turn them into a collage. one day.

one of the scenes that i hold dear in my heart was the sounds of the cow bells set against the setting sun. we were on our way back from one of our weekend excursions from visiting the Linderhof and Neuschwanstein. it was about 4 pm and the sun was setting behind the hills. the cows were grazing in the pastures and we stopped the car for photoes. everyone got out except me cos i was too lazy to put on shoes again. so i stuck my head out of the car window to admire the view, the radio was on so i didn't notice anything till i heard bells clanging softly. i turned down the sound and OOOooOOOoo.. such lovely music coming from the cow bells as they eat and shake their moo moo head. so romantic. *daydreams* i love love love Bavaria.

my fingers are in pain

i sort of went all ambitious and decided to make a cluster of rape blossoms kanzashi, even though march jsut passed and it is now out of season. however, that cheery roll of yellow organza was just edging me on and on friday i ran across and bought a crescent shaped hair clip which was perfect for me idea.

lots of pieces n circles to cut.

and to pin into shape.

and bases to wire and wrap.

the squares are folded and sewed into a rough shape.

and finally the petals were glued onto the wire n felt bases. i got too carried away here so i didn't take any pictures :P

and the seperate flowers were wired onto the clip..

more pictures are on my shop.

on a different note, i bought these chio chio shoes at almost half price! ah ha ha ha!!

they were originally exorbitantly priced. goody goody gosh.

nice smell..

take a breather

uh huh. i need to take a break from my usual manic manufacturing mode. my shoulders and neck are killing me. but i'm pretty satisfied with my lastest collection of kanzashi flowers.

i bought me some satin ribbons and japanese chirimen fabric and had been in a whirlwind of making these cute flowers.

the blue hydrangeas headband is still a WIP. i'm waiting for my green ribbons to arrive.

the pink flowers may be turned into individual hair pins/a single large updo pin.

i can't think of what i want to do with the rest. dang! i wish my hair was the huge long curly mass i had before so that i can put my hair up and wear pins in the bun. aiyah!

speaking of green ribbons, i asked the DH to help me procure them as he was in Shanghai during the weekend and these were what he got.

how exciting! i'm glad he did the shopping cos he chose exciting colors. actually they were what was left over in the shop. these are 5 cm wide ribbons and pre-ordering was actually required. anyways i'm glad he bought them cos if it were up to me, i'd probably get only shades of pink.

i can't wait for him to come back and hand them over. he is still somewhere in china. :P it's hard to track his travel route. he keeps changing hotels. hahaha!

right now i'm craving some tea. teh O!

manic monday

day 1 of the bazaar passed and i am tired! OMG! i'm so not cut out for tending a stall/shop. 2 more days to go. i hope tomorrow will be a busier day(in terms of sales of course). i'm glad i have a friend and the DH to help out cos we do all need our tea and pee breaks. tomorrow the DH will go off again so it's only my friend and me.

a fellow stall holder suggest that i try the red dot museum instead. she says it's all hand crafty things there so the crowd may be more recepient. but the situation here today is that there wasn't any crowd. so unlike what i remembered many years ago. boo...

we got our new washing machine on sunday. it's so water conserving that i don't even see water in the drum! at least the older machine looked wetter despite being a water conservation model as well. i keep suspecting that the new machine is faulty in it's water estimate, and my cloths won't come out clean. hmm... this problem needs to be resolved.

kanzashi obsessed

i've made a few hair ties from patchwork cloth which can be seen at my shop. this one that i am brogging about is a result of my sakura obsession. i've tried it make it as close i can to the tsumami kanzashi that represents april. wanted to attach some falling petals but i think it's a bit too much for daily wear and on a hair band.

the pink was color in using water colors so they will run when wet. eep! thinking of getting some fabric dyes instead but i don't want to get a large bottle of 1 single color. do they have palettes?! hehe.

bags!!!

so i finally saw the SATC and really liked this bag. but apparently i've read some reviews and quite a number of people hates it. :P i do rather like the flamboyant things.
wouldn't it be cool if someone were to get it for me. ha ha ha!!!
anyways, i was at Coach Taka today and tried this on. actually i didn't see this color there but the blue was quite nice. or black. or bronze goldie. or pink.

itsh sho comfortables. i covet. but since i already have a similar, i have not more quota for bags. booooo!!!!
this looks quite nice too. love the greens.

can you imagine? my cloths are already so colorful, and i like even more colorful bags. and shoes. and jewellery. i'm afraid i'm going to turn into and obiang 30 year old. aiyoh. must try to be more stylish...

big flying cockroach

the cat was stalking something in the toilet and it was a huge cockroach. it was not flying. *phfew* so i attacked it with a baygone spray. the spray was... shall i say very effective. as i watch the big brown thing flop over and twitch its crunchy legs i felt bad. really bad. normally i have to spray insecticide at them flying things while they escape and take a really long time to expire and usually i just pick up the weak but not yet dead creature and flush them down the loo. but tonight, the concentrated spray (through a long nozzle) really killed that bug. and it just died. it's really horrible to see something expire. :(

my mum's plant flowered and they are the cutest things. i couldn't stop looking or touching them. so velvety. and they smell sorta stinky and sweet at the same time. i can fit this whole bunch into my palm. and i gots small hands.

today has been a very productive day. i made cookies and tart shells and pieced the entire collection of fuzzy charms.

the whip cream will take another day or so to dry completely before i can varnish them and glue into place. right now i've got a couple of completed ones and the rest assembed but not glued/varnished. i'm so pleased with these.

tomorrow i'll have to finish up my birdie collection. and hopefully make a few more before my arm and shoulder stiffen up.

and the reason why my photoes look so fuzzy is because i've been taking them with my phone, which boasts a 8 or 10 MB resolution but since my hands seem to be trembly lately so... and i still think no matter what an actual camera will always do better than a hp.

unbeing a hermit

let me show you what have me occupying my time since july.

i managed to finish it when he was in korea just before christmas. wah lao eh. i literally didn't do anything much. and when i did, i didn't have time to upload them.

i do recall making a bunch of fuzzy cakes and donuts.....

anyways, the sweater ended up being a leetle too big for the DH. this means lots of unravelling and restructuring. oh me goodness *faints* i'm very tempted to put it in hot water to shrink it.

i made the DH do my xmas shopping for me whilst in korea. *shows off the haul*

all these just for meeeee... once again he gets off not having to buy me any pressies, on his own i mean.

and these are the various feebies and samples that he got from the shops. cat not included.

wah... fwee eyelash curler.. i have not opened it yet even. so many things to try but not enough time to use.
i had a fun time wrapping up presents last year. 2008 i mean. which isn't such a long time ago. i'm looking forward to another christmas, but gift buying is getting more and more difficult.

this is the only thing i made as presents this time. but since then i have made a few more for the shop.

vacation update

I've uploaded a bunch of my vacation pictures onto facebook. i'll probably take a long long time to upload them here. which i really should because then i can at least write down some of the more exciting stuff. all i can remember now is some of the wonderful view from the road trips. if anyone's interested in looking at the pictures, my names' suzie's sushii on there.

i've started making beads again. this time more elaborate. i wonder how long this hobby will wind down like so many of the others. and it's also pretty tiring with the mini work. ah..

ooh.. i disappeared and came back..

and imma disappear again. we're going to Munich tomorrow and we'll be gone till November. mwah ha ha ha.

since this is mostly a show off craft blog, and i have not been making much things, therefore no post.

actually i do have a bracelet and some small items made but i have been too preoccupied to do photoeditting. i'm on a secret craft mission and it shall be disclosed only after christmas. oops, should i even mention it?

toodleloos.

wish me happy holiday.
