star nosed mole

today i am obsessed with the star nosed mole. the cutest thing eh-vah!

or course, some have questioned my defination of cute but you just have to lookit' it's tiny plump body and that pink feathery nose and you'd go awwww...

extreme close up of it's highly sensitive nose.

i also came across this bat picture that sorta reminded me of the bat i used to keep for a while. the bro picked it up when it was a wee fuzzy pink baby and i milk fed it till it was palm size. and it always called out to me and i'll put her to hang on my shirtfront. awww....

here we have the DH posing with the MAO in their fancy country colors.

yepp yepp. i was similar garbed too! we got the bandana at the Taiwan Shilin night market Jungle Mall.

the DH and i fell in love with a teeny tiny scottish fold kitteh at the Jungle Mall. she was so sweet, she wanted to be cuddled. awwww...

this is not that kitteh. this is a random internet image.

i also manage to grab some charms near the place where we had lunch one day during the Taiwan trip.

and in my current frenzy of sculpturing i made an earring for a colleague.

pot of gold at end of rainbow

right now i've got a bunch of tiny sculptures drying after varnishing.

i especially liked.... everything! the theme looked as if it should be called "in the woods" or "woodland wonderland"

last week's stash

yay! the DH got another silver for his IPPT. all that jogging has not been in vain. too bad there's not congratulatory kiss for him since my cold sore is scabbing up. i'm not taking any chances.

after i successfully made transfers onto polymer clay last week, i've been on a roll. even when i was dead tired from work everyday i must do a little everynight. heeheehee!

these are my latest factory outputs. a bunch of transfers and a few more beads.

there are some more sugar rolls, a few more cupcakes, ice cream cones, oreos, choc chip cookies, eggs in nests and me favourite, Poo! with2 flies each. click on pic to see close up.

the rain's been messing up my laundry. during the rest of the week it's sunny all morning and afternoon with rain in the evening. on laundry day it decides to rain right after i've finished 4 loads of bedsheets and cloths. aiyah! i have to bring everything indoors to dry them with a fan.

the mao mao seems to like this idea though. she can play hide and nap amongst the bedsheets.

i'm going to make more earrings with my new food beads.

random monday photos

i uploaded the pictures i took with my new phone. it's much easier now since i can take out the memory card and use a thumbdrive. better than my old one anyways.

this here is very large bowl of pomegranate seeds from 1 very large pomegranate. it took me 2 days to finish them all by myself. not one else bothers to eat this stuff. the ruby red seeds are very pretty. yummy too. i wonder if pomegranate is heaty...

this is the resident cat of our block. she's such a pretty thing. many people feed her so i don't. but she liks the occasional mr. bean ice cream. i do too. :)

these 2 are always together. sure a lovely pair. nope... they're both girls. one is older than the other. not mother and child.

girl girl is desperate for a good scratch after wearing the elizabeth collar for 2 weeks. she's all better now but previously she had a huge gash on her derriere and saw lice.. whatever those things are.

still dead hari raya

i went out with my mum. we bought things in shades of blue. i ended up with 2 polka dot blue and turquoise blouse that looks almost the same. one dress.. not exactly blue but with blue flowers. and she got a blue dress. and a black blouse. haha. we boring.

taka was horrendously noisy. there was some burberry fashion show. loud music. loud restaurant with people talking = bad meal.

i think the baby cat wants dinner. she keep walking on the keyboard.

my mum got me pretty beads.

my plants fell and soil was all over the floor. haiyah.

saw the caran dache color pencils. 120 pieces costs 345.50SGD. aiyoh. must talk to da boss and make sure he's going to pay me if i ever get them.

i am very convinced that mao mao like the green and pink stripe bedsheets that feels like silk. i see cat shape holes in it every day when i come home from work. and she actually shared the bed with me this morning (which she never does, she no share bed, its either me or her) in the pile of the green silk which i had kicked into a corner.

i wonder what i want for dinner. i got me a chocolate cover doughnut for a snack.

weekly report done.

the Hulk

my nuaing is coming to an end *boo hoo*

i'm now sort of watching the Hulk and i wondered about jennifer connelly.. so she was that girl from Labyrinth. one of my favourite movie of all times. i do remember giving away my copy of the dvd to Liz so that i could get the GOld edition. but i never did. but i will.

was shopping when i found a new love. the Westie slouchy in pink! ohhhh... if only it were under 300$. I really like the bags at My Flat in London. they're not as obiang as the juicy couture ones. and so girly too.

i'm also re-visiting my love to Tarina Tarantino's jewellery. and i remembered saving tons of her Pink head kitties pic and then photo-shopping them and trying to turn them into brooches. which i did successfully. kinda. try looking for them in my other blog. *i smell copyright*

otherwise, i've been really excited about my new project but i ran out of beads. wah lao!!! and i can't get them till tuesday cos tomorrow i probably will be crying about the presentation i have to prepare for tuesday. which is also the day when i have to remove the stitches for my tooth. which means i have to bring forward the meeting. wah lao cry ah!!

it is conclusive. the baby cat like the "silk sheets'

i also like the 'silk' sheets. in fact we like our bed a lot. a bit too much... we fall asleep too quickly.

and also i wondered how to people link new posts with their old posts. how to remember that they blogged about it and where and then have to find the link and then.. if you got years of blog to track??

and also i didn't make chawan mushi again. instead i pan fried/grill some fish fillets (red snapper?) and made claypot froggies as mum got me 3.

pan fried fish: i used the left over dashi sauce from the previous night and soak the fish fillets for 4 hours ( i was at home, on other days i suppose overnight is good), then just pan grilled them with butter. maybe about 2 minutes on each side then leave for a bit longer to cook thoroughly but not overdone.

same with the frogs. i soaked them with the dashi, then before cooking, dump the dashi, add a dash of wine. then use the same wine, add dark soy sause, ginger juice and slices and sugar and the chopped up spring onions. wet the bottom of claypot before firing up, put in butter, fry the frog pieces for a bit then add the sauce then cover for a bit. don't cook too long. best is just before serving but then where got so good life right. you think zhu chao ah...

i'm going to be famouse...

you know the DH is back when you don't see me online for days on end. right now he is working. at least he is right beside me rather than in the office, or in another country...

i've hit a creative stumbling block. i don't seem to want to make anymore cakes for now, too lazy to continue with the crochet, and on tuesday, i couldn't make a decent pair of earrings! oh dear. however i did try to complete 3 half made bags.

i finally sealed the lining for the clasp bobble bag with glue hahaha!!, glued a half lining for the pink but it still needs the lining and the zipper stitched in, and the green bag is being stiffened at the mo'. the peach cupcake bag probably won't be done for a while.

i hate my cat. she's given me another 2 scratches down my calf. i *counts* 6 scratches since the last 3 days.. however! she's going to make me famouse! i've submitted photos to my favourite blog.

it was no mean feat to get her to stay still enough to lay thing on her and capture is. mao mao doesn't like photo taking.. it seems that she can hear the click and whir from the camera when i focus. and i guess the glare irritates her, and she doesn't stay still.

anime is killing me. sleeping late is so not happening for me...

one weekend.

I want to be like maomao. so blissfully lazing on a cloud of sheep.

but i'm riduculously moody this time round. don't like it when the DH is away. it's dull, most times lonely but i also on most occasion manage to keep it under control. i've broken down into bouts of tears this time though. gah. most of all, i cried for my brother, who had a father who didn't seem to want him since birth, and a mother who beat him when she should have protected him. will try to be kinder ya...

his birthday is coming round. 9-11. haha. i will get him a

or a

just kidding. *my mood is better if you had noticed*

he still visits father though, which is lucky for the old man for i'm currently nursing a grudge. once in a while i take it out to polish it but otherwise i keep it tucked away in a little box.

one cannot be so unlucky. i got 2 of these out of the $2 machine.. why is it that i always get the one that i do not want most. even if i didn't think of it....

Brainiacs

Spent a better part of the night setting up shop, but not before i've had dinner (turkey and baby spinach sandwich and some harvest basil) and rooted some more basil.

Brainiac is on tv right now but i'm not paying attention to it. as usual i'm preoccupied with something else, right now it's blogging. my blogs in the past *counts 4* have been either abandoned or closed down. hopefully this will last for a bit.

the lavender seeds we got from hokkaido have sprouted. they're long and skinny now since it's rainy and cold and our apartment doesn't get direct light. they've been left out on the air-con unit to grab as much rays as they can.

Lemon balm, lemon balm seedlings, lavender seedlings

gosh darn. anime isn't airing tonight. D-gray Man is rather good.

it's time for supper. should i go for milo or have some more of that odd mutton tasting goat's milk. whot a tough choice.

Milo

got these on our hongkong trip last september. they'll absorb water and turn into perfect balls of gelly soil, which grows algae and weird bugs after a while. not suitable for my basil and lemon balm at all. how did the other keep theirs bug free?!
Random ballies

more MaoMao.

In sink on a hot day.

In bed on cooler days.

Attacked bed frame. see the carnage!

I want out

nEW pLACES

Nice! i wish i wish.. that this blog will be better behaved. i like the brown so far...

I've made the final move. It took me long enough. I am feeling a little blue now that 'trees' have been closed and deleted but hopefully the new email account will treat me nice. I might just close down the singnet account too. depends...

the colleagues discovered FACEBOOK today. they've been fooling around with it for the whole day. Add me

Argh... Lavender season in France... grrr.. but it's ok.. we did see quite a lot in our trip to Hokkaido
Unfortunately, the photos been loaded back to front... mwa ha ha!!

Tomita Farm Lavender Fields

Isn't this such a lovely sight. the ice cream was really yummy.

Lavendar Soft Serve

i might want to try and make some one day. I love the peaches too! we found some and Meidi-ya supermart but the DH asked if i'd was willing to eat a $12 peach.. even if they were....

Hokkaido Peaches at 2500Yen for 5

the cat's trying to blog too... and OMG! she's decided to sit on my lap. umm.. she's gone now...

Mao Mao looking bored
