Nfu Oh 444 with 2 looks

by the time this post it scheduled to be publish i will hopefully be seeing some lavender, even though i'm not in Provence.

444 is another taupey nude color that can look purplish in some light. it's a creme but i've layered some glass fleck glitter on top.

i think this is a rather neutral color, in the bottle it looks warm but on my fingers it pulls a cool tone.

and because i've failed miserably on trying to have lavender sprays on my fingers (purple totally disappears into the nail base), here's an alternate look.

Nfu Oh 503

this is a beautiful bright grass green that applied smoothly. i'm wearing 2 coats here. if you're picky about total coverage you can easily go for 3. dry time should be decent but i'm a seche vite user so i cannot tell for sure.

crudely popped on some KONAD just so i have nail art to show. i was wearing this mani in a reverve french style with glitter, my usual lazy art fall back. my top coat from TheFaceShop streaked the white special KONAD polish.

wore the color for about 4 days before taking these pictures so you can defintely see some tip wear and chipping.

we've been busy reading up and planning for our june vacation and this has defitely taken up my nail time as well as blogging time. the DH and I will be away for 3 weeks till july so i'm trying to accumlate some nice NOTDs to be scheduled for posting.

Nfu Oh 562

i've been lazy to come up with any interesting designs so i stuck some stickers on. i love the color on me.

the brush on this is pretty decent and application was easy enough. this is 2 coats. still some bald spots but can be camouflaged with the shine from the top coat.

i'm currently wearing another green shade from Nfu so i'll put that up next when i have enough sun to get a some nice shots.

one last photo.

nfu 506 with blings

this is what Brooke over at Getcha Nails Did would describe as "ugly but awesome".

when i saw the swatch online at fabulous Street i thought i looked more green, but when the DH brought it home, my first impression was baby's poo. once i had a full mani on i think it's pretty chic. LOL. i'm lovin' this right now but i'll probably take it off soon.

i made earrings. i plan to make some more.

they look like a firework of pearls.

Orly Cupcake KOTD with Nfu Oh 133

i was pouring one day i wanted to test if the increase in air humidity + cooler temperature will aid my success with KONAD. it did. surprisingly, i have a better success rate with using other polishes than the KONAD special polish.

these are some of the grays i tried but in the end i stuck to using NFU 133, which is the darkest gray here.

if dry cuticles give you the heebie geebies you can stop looking from here on. :P:P:P i've just started trimming my cuticles and this was my second attempt here.

i also blamed the workshop that i attended that week that required us to wear powdered gloves for the whole day. too drying!

Orly Cupcake is a sheerish muted pink that flatters my skin tone. pastel pinks don't really work for me so i am happy that i've got this. application is easy peasy but you might want to do 3 coats if you are picky. i think i wore 2 here.

i hope everyone enjoys looking at my NOTDs as much as i enjoy doing them. <3

if i were to get something from MAC, what would you recommend? i've already set my eyes on dirty plum blush, up the amp and laugh a lot lipsticks.

Earth Day NOTD II : Nfu Oh 569

So as i am typing this out i'm stalking the sun. it's bright and sunny today but still overcast with moving clouds.

everytime i take a claw shot i get a little sunburn. that's how hot it is here almost all the time.

in bright light, my fingers look dark.

overcast and with flash.

569 is a beautiful rich green jelly that's got an inner glow in any light.

the formula is a little bit tricky to use. it applies very sheer and it will drag, creating bald spots. this is one thin layer and one thicker layer. the polish like to stick together so use a little bit more and try to spread it out evenly and pull off the excess. one good thing about the consistency is that it evens itself out creating an smooth finish. next time i will try to use 3 thin layers and see how that works.

you will also notice that i've got neater cuticles now! i bought a cutter and have been trimming them down. yup yup! cuticle trimming is now available.

Green Earth Day NOTD with NFU OH 569 & 087

Happy Earth Day! i'm very pleased to share me Bday with Mother Earth so i decided to commemorate the day with a green mani.

bottle is 569

the idea was alright but the execution leaves a lot more to be desired. the sponging was terrible and the tip pull is hideous. that's my fault for trying to attempt to do nail art when i'm half asleep.

bottle is 087

i always like to moisterise my hands before putting on any varnish but you'll have to allow the cream to fully sink in. i do not remove oils from my nails prior to applying varnish.

Nfu 569 is a gorgeous green jelly that's supposed to be a NARS Zulu dupe but since i'll probably never that in the flesh i'll just settle for this.

that said, i don't think Nfu 569 is suppose to be used in a gradient mani, it deserves to be worn in it's full jelly goodness. i'm taking this off asap!

087 is a pale green shimmer. i really like it

Nfu Oh 304

a pretty gray that compliments my yellow-overtoned skin. it's an alternative nude look and is very pretty. a black and white sticker completes the look. i've been wearing shoes a lot lately so i wonder why i'm wearing such a pretty POTD. :P

Nfu Oh 51

i've been sucked into playing Farmville, Pet Society and Cafe World on Facebook. it's taking up my time LOL!

the DH really liked these nails. it flashes red and green and bronze, even to make a nail color interesting to him.

i painted a dark blue base before overlaying it with 2 layers of #51. i find that it helps to bring out the sheer purple base color. the acrylic flowers also helped to bring out the purple color of the base color.

see the transition from green to red sparkles!

Nfu Oh 354

i have blings and i must use them.

this is my new manicure/nail art mobile station. i got tired of bringing out boxes from all over everytime i want to do my nails.

the shoe boxes contain my polishs, the bottom shelf carries my UV gels and light plus my acrylic paints.

some kitty pictures for your entertainment.

kitty is lying on my "great big french road trip" references that never got realised. i dug them out because we might be attempting to go this year.

does kitty not look like Toothless from How to Train your Dragon? all she needs now are wings, and maybe a dye job.

NFU oh 373

this is one of the grays that came back with the DH. my list contained 4 grays/taupes and he wonders why i buy so many of the same shades. but he does think that i'm more exciting since i don't get just pinks and reds.

this is a nice gray beige with a purplish tone under some lighting. it make my fingers look pale (but not deathly) and slim. i <3!!

the glitter is an attempt to camoflage the horrible cuticle line. i blame the brush, again.

i also shaped my nails more tapered, just for fun.

here's one with my flowering lavender plant, out of season by 4 months.

there're only 3 flowering stalks but at least there's flowers.
