TFS OR 202

a color that reminds me of orange juice. YUM!

i've fallen into the lazy trap. i've run out of nail art ideas. :(

i'm playing "hide and go seek" with the sun.

an orange that doesn't make my skin look sallow. nice.

oops, bye bye sun.

TFS BL606: an attempt of the Bohemain look

this is the only "accurate" picture i could get of this awesome polish. it's a dark but bright cerulean blue with a yellow hue.

all TheFAceShop polish are highly pigmented (except for the lights) and will thicken with time. and the fumes will probably burn a hole in your throat and lungs. :O

the photo above have been manupilated to try to bring out the yellow hue but to no avail. my CANON 500 seems to take pictures on the bluish side.

KOTD with TFS PP 408

the colleague bought this lovely lilac color upon my recommendation and i couldn't resist slapping on a quick mani at the office on friday. i realized that it's not a shade that i have at home and now i'm very tempted to get myself a bottle too.

this is a warm toned lilac that leans towards pink/red, but still very purple.
since making a switch to 3Free formulas, korean nail polishes smell extremely strong to me but i reall like the readily available enormous color choices.

the konad was done using CHinaglaze's Spontaneous. both colors go very well together making it a very sweet look. i overlayed it with 2 more layers of glass glitter(TFS) and lined the pattern with rainbow glitter.

TheFaceShop PK 103 with dried flowers nail art., NFuOh 133 finger

i wore these nails while i was in HarBin back in January. they lasted me for the entire week.

PK 103 is a very pretty pink with shimmer. as with pales it's a streaky mess that requires 3 or more coats to even out. and with TFS polished it gets goopy very quickly and will require a thinner even as you apply. i let the shimmer and the seche vite to even things out for me.

this is a one finger swatch of NFU 133. a nice gray. 2 coats. i wish for a better brush.

NFU oh 200 with TFS YL701

as usual, pale colors are a pain to apply. i think this is 4 coats. see the horrible cuticle line. a grayed out pastel yellow that suits my skintone.

these are what i used. the right most 2. the one on the left is YL702. as opposed to the TFS glittery YL702.

CNY toes with TFS YL702

i was lazy, so i stuck on some glitter and a butterfly sticker.

NFU oh 174 with TFS YL702

more toes for you. back log i swear. will try not to torture the reading public with my dry and messed up toes. have i ever mentioned that my birkies are my default footwear of choice? :P:P:P

this look is achieved using the following products. left out that acrylic paints.

paint 3 layers of NFU 174 followed by dabbing one layer of TFS YL702.

i cut of all my nails to almost near the quick. i will occasionally do this to lessen the skin hardening around the nails.

you can see all the horrible skin but um, i just had to show you the awesomeness that is NFu 174. a pastel green that i can wear without making my skin look like cooked lobster. as usual it's a little grayed out bright color.

this is the complete look. it looks equally good without the flowers. really.

TheFaceShop GR503 with black polka dot french and acrylic ribbons

tot i'd try one of the pastels i got. my skintone doesn't really look good in pastels but sometimes it's fun to wear something bright.

all photoes were taken indoors with and without flash.

i have to admit that TFS colors although highly pigmented are quite thick and a PITA to apply. i did try to thin it out though. my cuticles avoidance skillz still sucks. lol.

i didn't wait for the black to dry before using my top coat so there were some streaking.

TheFaceShop WH003 with rainbow colours

i'm loving pretty pastels right now even though i try to stay with the seasonal trend of wintery colors. i'm trying to kill 2 birds with one stone by wearing both!

the base is WH003, a shimmery holographic white that goes on sheer and can be used as an overlay.

this is 2 coats of WH003 with random dots of Etude house GR602(bright green), EtudeH PK010(pink), TFS YL703(yellow) and TFS BL602(blue). finally i did an overlay with the WH003 again.

i wore this plain for a day but i have those little pots of coloured acrylic waiting for me to practice on.

TheFaceShop OR 204 with acrylic nail art

on sunday i hauled a couple of polishes and decided to wear one of them.

it's a yellowish orange that reminds me of a satsuma or mandarin orange but it showed up pink on the first coat due to it's sheer nature. it's more orange then the picture showed it to be. i have not seen the sun in days.

it's great to use as a one color gradient nail. you just have to build up the layers as you near the tip.

of course i have to practice with my acrylics more. on to making more flowers. my favourite design.

i wore these nails on monday. flowers on my thumbs and ring fingers.

hehe. on monday night i wanted to practice somemore so i did the rest of my fingers as well. eh heh heh heh.

i'm not so good with the leaves but i will work on it!

korean hauls

my husband was in Seoul a few weeks ago and i gave him a rather long shopping list. to make things easier, i restricted my items from only Etude House and SkinFood and FaceShop. it rather amuses me that the reason for him to leave the hotel room besides going to work was only to eat, or to do shopping for me. the poor thing! even when i am not with him he seems to be shopping too...

i was about to run out of cleansing oil and face wash so that was included in the etude hauls. i also got the peeling kits since i am obsessed with removing dead skin as my pores clog easily and milia will form.

etude1

another lot of skin peels from the FaceShop. lovely stuff. the toe separators and samples were gifts, as well as the plastic bag underneath.

after he realised how cheap the sunblock were, the DH bought a couple more. we now have enough sunblock for the rest of the year! the DH knows a deal when he knows one. heeheehee!!

i love the masks from the FaceShop. most of them work more or less, but for the price there isn't very much to complain, except that they were a big big for my face.

sheet masks

various brushes from EtudeHouse and SkinFood

brushes

i rather like the skunk brush from etude and so far i'm using one of the e/s brush also from etude. it has a few hairs that poke but otherwise it is firm and i like it for blending. it is again a bit big for me. i like smaller brushed for more precise application since i like to go for super bright colours.

and finally some nail files and polishers

nail files

these were discovered by the DH on one of his previous trips. he was very excited with his find and is constantly showing off his shiny polished nails to me. i can never keep the shine on my nails from the constant washing and crafting and glue stuck on them. :P

lastly, i had a last minute list and they were some e/s. DH managed to get 2 out of the three. no pics for these :P

i must really thanks my very patient DH for offering to buy me things whenever he is away. the last time he got me ribbons from shanghai and i am very grateful for them.

my throat, nose and head is killing me. my is very "heaty" from durians and chempadaks! yummy tropical fruits with strong smells!
