Orly's Pixie Dust -an attempt at Wedgwood blue.

PD is nowhere near Wedgwood blue but i was trying channel the delicate feel of fine china on my nails.

PD is a lovely grayed out baby blue(or dusty blue or dusky blue) with subtle glass shimmer. it's also easy to apply but still required 3 coats for true opacity. i'm wearing 2 here since i liked the way the pinks in my nail beds glowed through the polish.

here i am clutching my favourite daily drink. Yacult. it's getting sweeter on my palette but since the lady drops by every week i have no heart to send her away without buying any.

Orly's Solid Gold KOTD

the neighbour's kids are making a ruckus and OMG the echos down the corridors and stairwells. *feels a migraine coming on*

this color gives me the shivers. good shivers. see the glittery goodness? i'll bet it's look spectacular with a shiny top coat on.

i've used plate m57 for this. i've discovered that i can scratch out the Konad stamp on the matte surface. i guess it's a sacrifice i have to make to retain that matte sheen.

tip wear after a few days. you can see the metallic silver grit that they use to make the polish matte.

brown acrylic powder for the ribbons and flowers. i have not done this for so long. getting real rusty with the shapes.

tip: if you run a remover lightly over this type of matte polish, you can remover the upper colored part and reveal a different look.

i made the mistake of wearing solid without a basecoat. it stained my nails a crazy yellow! i've never experienced staining this bad ever.

Orly Cupcake KOTD with Nfu Oh 133

i was pouring one day i wanted to test if the increase in air humidity + cooler temperature will aid my success with KONAD. it did. surprisingly, i have a better success rate with using other polishes than the KONAD special polish.

these are some of the grays i tried but in the end i stuck to using NFU 133, which is the darkest gray here.

if dry cuticles give you the heebie geebies you can stop looking from here on. :P:P:P i've just started trimming my cuticles and this was my second attempt here.

i also blamed the workshop that i attended that week that required us to wear powdered gloves for the whole day. too drying!

Orly Cupcake is a sheerish muted pink that flatters my skin tone. pastel pinks don't really work for me so i am happy that i've got this. application is easy peasy but you might want to do 3 coats if you are picky. i think i wore 2 here.

i hope everyone enjoys looking at my NOTDs as much as i enjoy doing them. <3

if i were to get something from MAC, what would you recommend? i've already set my eyes on dirty plum blush, up the amp and laugh a lot lipsticks.

Orly's Cashmere cardigan

i've got only a couple of Orlys and so far the creams are easy to apply. 2 coats usually suffice but i tend to do 3, just to see if there's any difference.

i really wanted to try CC out because i was watching the sky from my bed on good friday and it was a purplish blue, and CC was the only polish i had that kinda represented the color of the sky.

on me, it looks more like a bluish purple than a purplish blue most of the time. now i need a plurplish blue to make my life complete ;>

very pretty, very bright and a unique color. i feel very obvious when i was wearing it, since the polish wearing crowd tend towards pinks and the occasional black/dark blue for the young 'uns.

on a side note, i finally caved in and bought my first konad set on saturday. i was at Jurong Point shopping mall and went into this shop called "beadled"? they sold beads and nail art items.

and the story goes: i went into the shop, browsed around, saw the konad plates all laid out, saw the price of the set, went out, dittered for a bit before saying to the DH, "i want to go back and get those." to which he said, "i'll wait for you outside." <3<3<3

i guess he was being very sweet because i was real upset with the closure of WAX IN THE CITY^&%$&**%%* (i have a $1499 package with them)(he also walked all over the mall with me when i declared a craving for bubble tea).

anyway, i paid SGD$29.90 for 2 plates (of my choice), 3 bottles of mini polish(of my choice) plus the small stamper and scraper. i think the price is quite all right since OCnailart is going for the same but i still have to facter in the shipping costs.g

unfortunately, the shop ran out of the stamper kit, black and white polish so i will have to return to the shop(thank goodness they have one at Plaza Sing') to collect them. i can't wait to play with these, especially the lace designs. in fact, it successful, i intend to haul a few more plates from OCnailart, i've alreadu got my plates pickes out ^,,^
