acrylic pendants.

these were the reasons why i got acrylics in the first place. for crafting. but doing nail art is so much more satisfying. i will somehow end up with a collection of jewellery which will never get sold. *sighs*

a cherry blossom tree for spring and a summer apple tree. so cute.

wanted to try out a 'nail art' pendant but somehow it just doesn't translate so well. maybe the colors just don't work out. here's another style.

Fuchia and Purple tsumami kanzashi

since it's a holiday today, i decided to finish up a WIP. my cousin's getting married this thursday and i wanted a new hairpiece to wear.

ok now i will have to get started on my presentation for tomorrow. haha.

Etude House nails

i'm back into painting my nails again since i'm not doing anymore crafty things that involves glue or thinner. not much anyways. i recently got myself some polish from EtudeHouse and i loved them. they're rather easy to apply and the colors are pretty. of course my Seche Vite top coat made drying a breeze.

i really missed using black polish, that last time was probably 11 years ago! i'm wearing the purple polish on my nails now. i loved those polishes so much that yesterday i popped into EtudeHouse again to hual me some more pretties. i had to exert much self control from buying up every available shade!

i can't wait to try everything. i'm definately going to have a long list for the DH when he goes to Korea next time.

i finally finished my baby mobile. my cousin was rather delighted with the doggies but we've since concluded that it will probably amuse the mother more than the babe.

the baby will be looking at a bunch of bums. ;)

baby cradle display thing.. MOBILE. yeah that's it

my cousin is due next week and i'd tot i'd make her a super girlie mobile as a gift. yeah, she's expecting a girl. haha.

i've finished the hanger. basically i bought a cheap but cute heart shaped socks hanger and wrapped it with ribbon.

i stuff the bottom with some wrapping paper and magazine pages (i recycle as much as i can)

the cat always wants in on the action. everytime i craft i have to make a space on the table (make that the majority of the space) while i work on a little corner.

the wrapping process using fabric glue. love this stuff!

the final hanger. well not quite. this is so plain and boring. i'm going to put on some roses and flowers and stuff. things i make are usually all flowery and super sweet ya know.. i can't help it.

i've finished crocheting the bit of 3 of the doggies. i will do the 4th one tonight if i can. am going to pick the DH up at the airport later, after my nap. :P:P:P

the crochet doggies patterns are from this booki bought from kinokuniya. you gotta lurve the japanese craft books. you don't really have to read japanese to understand them.

my fingers are in pain

i sort of went all ambitious and decided to make a cluster of rape blossoms kanzashi, even though march jsut passed and it is now out of season. however, that cheery roll of yellow organza was just edging me on and on friday i ran across and bought a crescent shaped hair clip which was perfect for me idea.

lots of pieces n circles to cut.

and to pin into shape.

and bases to wire and wrap.

the squares are folded and sewed into a rough shape.

and finally the petals were glued onto the wire n felt bases. i got too carried away here so i didn't take any pictures :P

and the seperate flowers were wired onto the clip..

more pictures are on my shop.

on a different note, i bought these chio chio shoes at almost half price! ah ha ha ha!!

they were originally exorbitantly priced. goody goody gosh.

nice smell..

take a breather

uh huh. i need to take a break from my usual manic manufacturing mode. my shoulders and neck are killing me. but i'm pretty satisfied with my lastest collection of kanzashi flowers.

i bought me some satin ribbons and japanese chirimen fabric and had been in a whirlwind of making these cute flowers.

the blue hydrangeas headband is still a WIP. i'm waiting for my green ribbons to arrive.

the pink flowers may be turned into individual hair pins/a single large updo pin.

i can't think of what i want to do with the rest. dang! i wish my hair was the huge long curly mass i had before so that i can put my hair up and wear pins in the bun. aiyah!

speaking of green ribbons, i asked the DH to help me procure them as he was in Shanghai during the weekend and these were what he got.

how exciting! i'm glad he did the shopping cos he chose exciting colors. actually they were what was left over in the shop. these are 5 cm wide ribbons and pre-ordering was actually required. anyways i'm glad he bought them cos if it were up to me, i'd probably get only shades of pink.

i can't wait for him to come back and hand them over. he is still somewhere in china. :P it's hard to track his travel route. he keeps changing hotels. hahaha!

right now i'm craving some tea. teh O!

kanzashi obsessed

i've made a few hair ties from patchwork cloth which can be seen at my shop. this one that i am brogging about is a result of my sakura obsession. i've tried it make it as close i can to the tsumami kanzashi that represents april. wanted to attach some falling petals but i think it's a bit too much for daily wear and on a hair band.

the pink was color in using water colors so they will run when wet. eep! thinking of getting some fabric dyes instead but i don't want to get a large bottle of 1 single color. do they have palettes?! hehe.

big flying cockroach

the cat was stalking something in the toilet and it was a huge cockroach. it was not flying. *phfew* so i attacked it with a baygone spray. the spray was... shall i say very effective. as i watch the big brown thing flop over and twitch its crunchy legs i felt bad. really bad. normally i have to spray insecticide at them flying things while they escape and take a really long time to expire and usually i just pick up the weak but not yet dead creature and flush them down the loo. but tonight, the concentrated spray (through a long nozzle) really killed that bug. and it just died. it's really horrible to see something expire. :(

my mum's plant flowered and they are the cutest things. i couldn't stop looking or touching them. so velvety. and they smell sorta stinky and sweet at the same time. i can fit this whole bunch into my palm. and i gots small hands.

today has been a very productive day. i made cookies and tart shells and pieced the entire collection of fuzzy charms.

the whip cream will take another day or so to dry completely before i can varnish them and glue into place. right now i've got a couple of completed ones and the rest assembed but not glued/varnished. i'm so pleased with these.

tomorrow i'll have to finish up my birdie collection. and hopefully make a few more before my arm and shoulder stiffen up.

and the reason why my photoes look so fuzzy is because i've been taking them with my phone, which boasts a 8 or 10 MB resolution but since my hands seem to be trembly lately so... and i still think no matter what an actual camera will always do better than a hp.

kimchi + blisters = painful meal

uh huh. my lower lip is full of blisters from chafting against the braces. they seem to be moving from the left to the right. as of now i can count 2 big ones and 4 baby ones. i really must try to 'cool' down.

the kim chi is not helping of course. now that the DH is gone again, imma goin' to eat quite a fair amount of kim chi. more blisters for me. w00t!

the DH finally bought me a nintendo DSL. it's what i call in a nail polish color. pearly nudish pink. you know what this means... time to crochet a case for it. ^___^

i've even sorted out my yarn and found the perfect fluffy soft yarn for it. also not to mention all my WIPs. lots n lots of bags to be finished off and lined.

^_________^

put up 2 more earrings. go look.

this was made for a colleague. it's meant to be her love bird but i made the beak too big so now it looks like a colorful falcon.

summer vacation

well, we're suppose to be on vacation but we ain't going anywhere. somebody couldn't tear himself away from his work it seems. we could already be in Bali by now, or Bintan.

at any rate, we did go to the beach this morning but since we weren't near any bike rental place we ended going to the pool. now the DH looks like a lobster. :P

tomorrow we'll be better prepared. sunblock. clean undies. food. he did promise to take me to the pool again tomorrow, and we'd try to get near a bike rental shop.

yesterday i made this.

Big Eyed Bambi

i got the idea from this charm that i see on some sites.

and i was itching to get one and since i don't see it here, i decided that i can needle one into shape. the toughest thing is to make the legs. my fingers are suffering from multiple puncture wounds now. i really should get me some thick finger gloves.

today i made a giraffe. i was planning to make something big and fat and cute but this one turned up almost anatomically correct. the legs are of course short and stumpy. i started at about 5 pm, made dinner at 7pm. by the time it was 10 and the blue planet was showing i was putting in the spots. heheh. not bad for today.

mao mao helps to model.

i really like this 'eye' effect. it's weird but somehow it makes the eye sparkle. and since i do not have black, all my animals are gonna be brown and doe eyed.

i'm not sure what to do with them now. the giraffe was suppose to be for me new bag. i might turn the deer into a charm, maybe for handphone, or a pendant.

i'm done bragging now. i wonder what i can acheive tomorrow.

making miniatures

the reason i wanted to try needle felting is cos the result is fuzzy and the animals look live like. it is made from wool after all. i like my furry things.

my first attempt at making a terrier. i modeled it after a friends dog. unfortunately i also managed to turn her terrier into a dachshund. ah ha ha ha. it's a tershund. a dashier. w00t!

but i have to say that it's rather cute ya.

i also made a cat but eee... me dun like.

it looks like some deranged animal hybrid. :P

me will try again.

crafting madness

a friend recommend that i register with this: http://community.livejournal.com/sgselltrade/
that means i have to open an account with LJ and maybe post on it too. the registration rules are quite stringent but i suppose it is suppose to protect the buyers. which i understand. more work for me then. maybe i really should enquire about how q box operates.

i've been meaning to post for days but i actually havent' turned on my pc much. that's because i've been hooked onto my new hobby. Needle felting!

so after about 100$ and 4 broken needles later, i have these...

which have also been turned into earrings and put up on the shop.

i love the look that the wool gives. like a real animal. it's all fuzzy.

what else should i make? hmmm

star nosed mole

today i am obsessed with the star nosed mole. the cutest thing eh-vah!

or course, some have questioned my defination of cute but you just have to lookit' it's tiny plump body and that pink feathery nose and you'd go awwww...

extreme close up of it's highly sensitive nose.

i also came across this bat picture that sorta reminded me of the bat i used to keep for a while. the bro picked it up when it was a wee fuzzy pink baby and i milk fed it till it was palm size. and it always called out to me and i'll put her to hang on my shirtfront. awww....

here we have the DH posing with the MAO in their fancy country colors.

yepp yepp. i was similar garbed too! we got the bandana at the Taiwan Shilin night market Jungle Mall.

the DH and i fell in love with a teeny tiny scottish fold kitteh at the Jungle Mall. she was so sweet, she wanted to be cuddled. awwww...

this is not that kitteh. this is a random internet image.

i also manage to grab some charms near the place where we had lunch one day during the Taiwan trip.

and in my current frenzy of sculpturing i made an earring for a colleague.

pot of gold at end of rainbow

right now i've got a bunch of tiny sculptures drying after varnishing.

i especially liked.... everything! the theme looked as if it should be called "in the woods" or "woodland wonderland"
