summer vacation

well, we're suppose to be on vacation but we ain't going anywhere. somebody couldn't tear himself away from his work it seems. we could already be in Bali by now, or Bintan.

at any rate, we did go to the beach this morning but since we weren't near any bike rental place we ended going to the pool. now the DH looks like a lobster. :P

tomorrow we'll be better prepared. sunblock. clean undies. food. he did promise to take me to the pool again tomorrow, and we'd try to get near a bike rental shop.

Big Eyed Bambi

i got the idea from this charm that i see on some sites.

and i was itching to get one and since i don't see it here, i decided that i can needle one into shape. the toughest thing is to make the legs. my fingers are suffering from multiple puncture wounds now. i really should get me some thick finger gloves.

today i made a giraffe. i was planning to make something big and fat and cute but this one turned up almost anatomically correct. the legs are of course short and stumpy. i started at about 5 pm, made dinner at 7pm. by the time it was 10 and the blue planet was showing i was putting in the spots. heheh. not bad for today.

mao mao helps to model.

i really like this 'eye' effect. it's weird but somehow it makes the eye sparkle. and since i do not have black, all my animals are gonna be brown and doe eyed.

i'm not sure what to do with them now. the giraffe was suppose to be for me new bag. i might turn the deer into a charm, maybe for handphone, or a pendant.

i'm done bragging now. i wonder what i can acheive tomorrow.

my toilet smells like cat wee

sighs. i wish that my apartment has a rubbish chute attached. so i can dump rubbish away immediately. so i don't have to dress up just so to throw away smelly bags of eated foods and kitty wee.

so.. i made quite a few good stuff this weekend. i turned some cupcake into studs, finished up my 'easter' earrings, bird tree, love dove, and my absolute fave, little red riding hood complete with the BIG BAD WUFF.

just too bad that the DH has hijacked the camera away in china. so no pictures. right now i'm starting on the 3 little piggies, and another BiG BAD WUFF.

making miniatures

the reason i wanted to try needle felting is cos the result is fuzzy and the animals look live like. it is made from wool after all. i like my furry things.

my first attempt at making a terrier. i modeled it after a friends dog. unfortunately i also managed to turn her terrier into a dachshund. ah ha ha ha. it's a tershund. a dashier. w00t!



but i have to say that it's rather cute ya.

i also made a cat but eee... me dun like.



it looks like some deranged animal hybrid. :P

i'm bored and i want to go home

it's finally pouring. yay! no more aching knees and stuffy air. and an apartment that's like a sauna.

i feel so restless. i want tomorrow night to come quickly because the DH is coming home! yay! deep deep down i cannot survive 2 weeks of him away. one week is tolerable and the days fly away quickly but anything more than 7 will make me restless and tetchy. aaarrgghh! it's not 3 yet.

me is all excited about needle felting. i'm itching to buy all the equipment and start making something. :P of course i cannot. not yet. must resist. grrr..

i envy people with great designs and creative ideas. i admit that i am a copy cat. meow. purr. purr. i'll just trawl the internet for ideas and steal them! meh! ok la. i don't copy exactly mah. hor?!

anyways if you have any thing that you want made you can let me know. maybe i can custom make for you.

it's been 2 years

it's nice to know that we've been married for 2 years. and we've lived in this apartment for 2 years.

and we did not celebrate it. that's like the joke for today, because i didn't realise that the anniversary was last week. and apparently the DH forgot all about it too. but according to him he did realise it earlier than me, it's just that he didn't want to mention it.

there was laughter all around. i will do a victory dance to commemorate the day. many good years to us.

something that i'd tot to try my hands on but decided to resist. i saw pre-packed needle felting ..ingredients when i was in Tokyu Hands and i was tempted to get them but in the end i didn't. they were't quite inexpensive. but think of the fun! :P

star nosed mole

today i am obsessed with the star nosed mole. the cutest thing eh-vah!

or course, some have questioned my defination of cute but you just have to lookit' it's tiny plump body and that pink feathery nose and you'd go awwww...

i also came across this bat picture that sorta reminded me of the bat i used to keep for a while. the bro picked it up when it was a wee fuzzy pink baby and i milk fed it till it was palm size. and it always called out to me and i'll put her to hang on my shirtfront. awww....

last week's stash

yay! the DH got another silver for his IPPT. all that jogging has not been in vain. too bad there's not congratulatory kiss for him since my cold sore is scabbing up. i'm not taking any chances.

after i successfully made transfers onto polymer clay last week, i've been on a roll. even when i was dead tired from work everyday i must do a little everynight. heeheehee!

the rain's been messing up my laundry. during the rest of the week it's sunny all morning and afternoon with rain in the evening. on laundry day it decides to rain right after i've finished 4 loads of bedsheets and cloths. aiyah! i have to bring everything indoors to dry them with a fan.

the mao mao seems to like this idea though. she can play hide and nap amongst the bedsheets.


i'm going to make more earrings with my new food beads.

clay madness

huzzah! i have successfully made transfers. all i needed was a color laser printer. lucky for me the DH was able to them for me at work. heheheh..

the transfers were perfect. all i have to do is to have a flat piece of raw clay and lay the image over it. it does need water though. i just really hate rubbing the paper away from the clay since it's raw and might go out of shape.




i curved the clay over a wine goblet to get the curve. the DH said they looked like painted eggshells and are very pretty :):):):)

i also made some strawberry shortcake rolls and purple cupcakes.

all excited and bored at the same time

my company's DnD came and went.

so this is what i wore. the back of what i wore.



it took me over an hour to get my hair done cos i've never done it before and i tried about 3 times. and it took me probaby 10 mins for make up and another 15 to get dressed. hee.

and these are my main people at work.



we all look so lovely that night. and then the next day we all felt crappy from a late sunday night. haha. i had a full blown tummy flu which rendered me bed ridden. crap ya.

i found me a new project. or rather it's something that i have been trying to do for the longest time cos i wanna make pendants and stuff. so what i used to do was to make copies onto photo paper, cut them out and encase them with my favourite media (superglue) onto pendant frames. like these

however, the glue will dissolve the pictures a little so they will smudge. meh.

back to this new and exciting polymer clay transfer method. basically you just stick your picture onto the clay and then the ink will transfer. but there are different ways of doing it. like right now i will need a laser color printer to have my images printed out since i do not want to buy t-shirt transfers. as always, i'd like to use the least amount of money to accomplish my task. heheh. i'm getting the DH to print at his office since my office printer only prints black n white. boo!

i'm trying to make these into pendants. hopefully i'm not infringing into some IP issues as these are old old prints.

anway, i spent a better part of friday compiling them onto word and then a better part of sunday compiling them again on photoshop since i can only do limited editing on word. :P

i can sure waste a sunday away.

western blot is killing me

so many blots, so little pretty bands. i really need some positive vibes, lovely things, shopping.. *:P*

i'm not so tired though despite the late nights at work. bird nests' work.

the girls at work signed up for salsa class and we were all so excited to start class tomorrow but meh.. the school had some issues and i guess that brought out the nasty in a few of us, plus the future teacher, but it's really not our fault to cancel leh.

tomorrow my gels better get delivered, the printer guy better come and i better see some nice bands on my film.

my knee is aching

it's sunday and we've cleared all the laundry! the sun was out yesterday (hurrah!) and we managed to wash 5 loads of various items. and we ironed/steamed them out today. amazing, we don't have any laundry left over. for once.

and it's been raining for 2 to 3 weeks since. i finished me halter but i have yet had the chance to wear it. bah.

ah well. i got poked during the week and got to work stringing a few things up. they're all up now.

cycling trivialities

today has not been a good day. right now i still have a lump of discontent in the pit of my belly. *rumbles* *grumbles*

in the morning... haiyoh. let's just say that sometimes things just want to be fought over lah har.

the afternoon went by quite peacefully.

just before the work day ended, my boss dropped my brand new HD and apparently it's spoilt. i haven't even paid the colleague that help me buy it. *heart aches* *heart still aching*

after which we left... halfway, someone forgot her HP. so we decided to wait for her. and it started to rain. NVM. it poured!!!! so we all got wet through.

not to mention that i seem to have pulled the muscle on the right of my neck. wah lao.

i got sun flowers on sunday. they weren't that bad for 5$.


it's been raining since sunday. my sunflowers just drooped lower and lower. to think that it was sunny before i got the flowers.

feathers on my breath

today we're having a nice cool weather with a balmy breeze. the laundry is drying nicely. the music's good and i have my DH next to me *cheesy grin* Isn't it nice...

i've missed out blabbing on one very important thing. I've got braces! they've been up since the mid of january and i expect them to come out by next year. right now i'm staying off the spicy food cause the insides of my cheeks have tiny littly cuts and bruises that sting whenever i have chili. pepper's ok though. phfew.



today i'm going to brag about:

1. the hydrangeas i got for CNY. i threw them away on thurday. they lasted about 1 month. it's pretty cool and i didn't have to get a whole plant.



2. that thing on the back of the flower was a bag that plagued me since last year. i finally got hold of that pattern on valentine's day and had the main body finished in less then 2 weeks i reckon. as usual i procrastinated on sewing up the lining until my mum helped my finished it last sunday. heheh.

actually i should have used a smaller thread for the connecting flowers. right now you can't see the individual blossoms that make up the bag.

3. that FBB that i have been using since this year. wanted to have a keepsake of the lining which is full of poodles.


the pink teddy lost both it's arms. lol. now it look like an akuma.

i will survive

the day has passed (well there's another 4 hours till bedtime) and i've survived a full bikini wax. and that's it. i didn't survive the shop that i got the wax from. i ended up with a $$$ cream that's suppose to slow down and reduce hair growth.

i also didn't survive spotlight. i got away with 2 peach (senso has pretty bright colors) and one gold (panda) cotton yarn, a box of buttons, a meter of sofa fabric, and scrap of purple cloth. $$$

i wanted to get the corn and bamboo yarns too but i'm not sure what to do with them yet.

started on making my halter with the new peach yarn. hopefully there'll be no more changes. ergh!!

i think i'm going to hide my credit cards again.

lonely tuesday

i was pissed off with something today but right now i can't remember it. *thinks hard*

i suppose if i can't remember it, it wasn't something worth getting angry about in the first place.

however, i do recall this woman i saw on the mrt, all nicely dressed for a day in the office, reading the papers... and chewing her nails. on several fingers. while she occasionally scratch her head. and flips the papers. eeee uuuuuu.... it was an unsightly sight with her lips curled up exposing all her pearly whites (lovely teeth though) and biting on the (obviously a serial biter) short short nails. *wonders if she swallows or spits the bits* *didn't see any spitting* eeeeee uuuUUUuUuUuuUu *

there was also another lady that was all dolled up with her pretty skirt and platform shoes and sitting with her knees apart. and i sat opposite her in the end. and she didn't showed off her undies caused her thighs happened to have covered it. tsk. *pities my eyes*

so right now i have a choice of finishing another bag which i've lined halfway. or starting a new project... a lacey halter top thing or another purple bag. wah ha ha!!!

it's been a good day

yup, everytime the DH is about to go away for a long trip he is extremely nice to me. today we went out for lunch and came back with 4 bags. it's not all my purchases though. he got a pair of shoes and a pair of slacks. i got me some cute Ts from Pull n Bear and another white cardi from Forever21. :P

i had the trippest dream this morning. i remember going to my grandmother's, and they've moved from the 4th floor to another apartment upstairs. (the flat that my grandmother used to stay had only 4 storeys high, and there wasn't any elevators). anyways, my cousin and i went up in the tiniest lift ever. it was only enough to fit 3 persons, standing side by side, with the door opening at one end. i felt pretty claustrophobic then... which the dream morph into my mum coming to our place while we're still sleeping in the morning and she was in an A-line purple dress... to which there was another shift and there was a performance and i don't remember much of that except that we were trying to depicts the 4 seasons and there was a thing representing each of the seasons with some lovely stage set changes. i think most of them were a female person except for winter, which was represented by a white fox. and when the fox came on stage, you could see the bare silver branches of trees popping up, the silvery moon in the air and we were tracking in the snow while a chilly wind was blowing snow all over, and we were covering ourselves with hoodies and scarves... and then i woke up. trippy. *listens to new CD*

let me rave about me new face scrub/mask thing. it's from The FAce shop. Peeling day-Honey black sugar. the scrub isn't something that i'm used to (many granules) but it smell fantastic of sugar and honey. today it smelt like those tapioca pearls from bubble tea. yummy. the one from skin food Black Sugar Mask is actually better (for me).

chinese new year rush

today is chu(1) 4. *thinks* ya.. i'm so tired. omg. we've literally been out of the house for the past 3 days, and there's another place to go later. well, i intend to be fashionably late. having a car means you want to cover as many places as possible. we've been around the whole island, from tampines to woodlands to bukit batok and back into hougang again.. all in one day. either that or its hougang to bukit timah. today we go toa payoh. *dies*

on the flipside, having a car is great! i got to visit the nurseries at thomson even though it was pouring but we got to play pretend at being romantic while looking at flowers. the chill room at far east flora is a must go if you love to 'frolic among the roses'. i got me 2 bunches of roses at $14 for 20 stalks and hydrangeas blooms at 6$ each! w00t!

the ones in front are pink and cream while the taller ones are yam (like the ones we had for our wedding last year). i had such a long time choosing the hydrangeas cos they had all the lovely colors like pinks and purples and whites and in between antique blues. OoOoOoOoooo.. the DH left me in there cos it was soooo cold.

the place was so worth the visit that we went back again after having dinner on tuesday night :P just for a after dinner stroll...and i got a pot of lavender plant, after thinking long and hard.

see exhibit B on the right. that's the one we bought. apparently it's been imported from italy. the sad looking lot on the left (A) are the ones i've been trying to grow from seed since last year augest. those are the hokkaido variety, but i think they smell better.

we also saw rosemary plants. it was very tempting but i still have a boxful of the dried stuff at home. maybe next time.

we also got a pot of chili plant at another nusrsery on sunday near my mums.

it's really cute but i think the plant is dying. the leaves are shriveling up and i'm am sure that it's well watered. maybe it just doesnt like the house.

random note: my braces are cutting into my skin.

all these plants are cluttering up the place. and contribute to my CNY decorations. time to say ooooo.....

the pussy willow flowered so i quickly poured the water away. i like them to stay white and fluffy.

mao mao was sleeping happy on the freshly laundered table cloth till she puked on it.
