a little panic
i've been away from the net a long time ya. we are still not sure if it's the network or the router. nyeh! and also we've been obsessed with Coffee Prince. it's darn funny and sad and sweet too. go watch. you'd be addicted too.
i have also been in a mad rush since last christmas ever since i got my Happy Hooker book. and i made 3 fat bottomed bags so far. :P
this was the 2nd bag made but i lined it first. and horribly lined too. so i cut it off and now it's sitting there unfinished again.
the lining was too small for the bag. :(

i completed making the body of the grey one on the 1/1/2008 :P but i never got to lining it until i made my mum do it for me 2 weeks ago. heehee. i've been happily using it for the past week. i love it!
the gold one is the 3rd i've made and i completed it whole last weekend. lining, handles and all. but i think i shall put a button on it today because it can't seem to close completely. hopwfully i can make another one for my mil by CNY.

the cat is loving the gold raffia. she likes the shinies.

resident cat taking her nappies in the bush. awwww...

we were in chinatown last night and it so happens to be the official light up ceremony. MM Goh was there. so were all these lions. there were amusing all lined up on the street.

ah.. time to go lunch soon. i'm going to be busy again trying to make a bunch of things by CNY and Valentine's day. and i still need to get me some new togs for CNY. and VD present. and some VD cupckaes. and finished redecorating the house. and lining pink FBB for tues. and managing my yahoo auction. OMG. you prolly will not see me for a while again.

random monday photos
i uploaded the pictures i took with my new phone. it's much easier now since i can take out the memory card and use a thumbdrive. better than my old one anyways.
this here is very large bowl of pomegranate seeds from 1 very large pomegranate. it took me 2 days to finish them all by myself. not one else bothers to eat this stuff. the ruby red seeds are very pretty. yummy too. i wonder if pomegranate is heaty...

this is the resident cat of our block. she's such a pretty thing. many people feed her so i don't. but she liks the occasional mr. bean ice cream. i do too. :)

these 2 are always together. sure a lovely pair. nope... they're both girls. one is older than the other. not mother and child.

girl girl is desperate for a good scratch after wearing the elizabeth collar for 2 weeks. she's all better now but previously she had a huge gash on her derriere and saw lice.. whatever those things are.

travelogue - korea p1
oh my! it's been 2 weeks since we came back. *thinks* actually 2 weeks isn't that long ago but it feels like i've been back at work for longer. i mean, Terminal 3 has already officially started operation so now i can't boast that we left for korea on the 19th dec 2006!
yepp! CAAS was testing the operations of T3 so we got to be guinea pigs and left from an empty airport. it's all green and bamboo-y and shiny. and when you're there, check out the toilets with the great views (didn't have my camera with me then so no toilet shots this time.) we also got served free buffet breakfasts! (mmmmm... smoked salmon canapes...)
the strawberries were large and sweet. hmmmm..... even the pale white ones!
21st dec 2006: somewhere near dongdaemun river..
we ran into the skating rink. such luck! it was crowded but really pretty.

22nd dec 2006: saturday was a whole day of walking.

christmas is fun in korea
there are lots of pwetty lights and twees! and it's fun to squeeze in myeongdong even though there were lots of peeple cos it nice and cold and your thick jackets bumper you from the crowd. tee hee.
after so many days i managed to get me a pair of chio boots for 39 000 won (62$). things are so expensive here. i keep picking up pweety shoes that cost an excess of 100 000 W (=158sgd) and that is after discount! *dies* the winter wear here's pwetty too but not suitable for us.
so my best buy so far was 3 set of underwear for 10 000W *ah ha ha ha* , earrings from 1000 to 3000W, and lots of beauty care from face shop, skin food, etude and tom n molly. i love to shop at the beauty shops. they throw in so many freebies and free samples.
so that's how we spent christmas day. slept in really late cos we were in pain, had a nice crab fried rice (lots of crab) at this cute chinese restaurant and went to squeeze with the crowd. and we accidentally went to the millenium capsule at a 'traditional korean village' tourist site.
right now i don't ache so much any more. that's cos we went skiing on christmas eve! i am not sure i like skiing. cos i don't like speed. omg, we spent an entire day at the ski resort and i fell as many times as i got up. ha ha.. *cries* however, i would like to do it again, at a place where there isn't so many people. i'm so scared of crashing into someone cos i can't brake!
it's been quite and enjoyable stay. on saturday we stumbled on an artist/designer village between changgyeonggung palace and gyeongbokung palace, not to mention the expensive restaurants and boutiques that lined the area. that's were we had the 18 000W (28.5$) waffles and coffee. we also passed by the vice presidents residence that was at the area, trek down to insa-dong handicrafts center and had 19000W oyster ommelette. (goodness ya!)
most of the restaurents had a really nice ambiance though. it's like a tree house! in fact, most of the eating places we went to had really nice decorations. even the family run ones.
and on the same saturday, we went to myeongdong church, passed by the shopping district, went by the jewellery street and ended up on dongdaemun and shopped till pass 10pm. dongdaemon had 3 large malls (there are more) that runs 24 hours. but things are not cheap there.
i can't recall what we did on sunday. oh. we went to gangnam first cos it's near our hotel. much trekking. then it'aewon. more of a tourist place. not so nice. and we came back early to as to sleep early to go skiing at 5 am the next day.
so far the only place that we haven;t been yet is the wholesale market at namdaemun, at that runs from 11 pm till 5 am. but i am sure the other shops open at humanly hours.
right now i am watching a korean movie about 2 guys, one old one young and their battle for their boobylicious tenant, who i think is married? it's funny in a crude way. lots of gratuitious boob grabbing.
i really should go out and walk a bit but i'm lazy.

it's cold out
and i don't want to go out. i'm going to spend today updating stuff. i've been obsessed with more clay cupcakes in my absence.

i was honing my micro drawing skillz! check out the details on the cakes. i tried to duplicate the designs on my toes. and as you can see, i'm into the peacock green/turquoise this time.

i've used up a few to make earrings and phone charms. if you like the have plain ones please let me know before i turn them into 'zngged' earrings.
i've also made more earrings and bracelets. including some presents.
this was rushed out for YY. they're way to adorable.

i'm in korea btw. :) it looks like china.. like any place that has land. low buildings. large sky :)) cold and gray. the cold makes me itch because of the dry skin. so i have to moisterise, which is something that i never do back in sg. this adds another 3o mins to my showering routine.
back to more tidying up of my stock. still thinking of a way to organise my shop. however i can't seem to find a way on this blog to make thumbnails so i guess you guys will have to just surf through the whole thing.
hope the DH gets off work soon so we can go out for dinner.

precious weekend
why does the weekend has to be so short? there's so many things that i want to do and my day job is in the way. :P
the fat bottom bag is getting to me. i really must have the pattern! last night we stopped at the national library only to find that their have a non existant crochet section?! NLB is sucky. but we did a check and found that the bishan branch has 3 and they are all on loan but the tampinese branch has one is available. and we also discovered that if we were to reserve it, there's a 1.55$ charge when we collect. eep! maybe later i'll make a trip down instead to try my luck.
then we went and got me a new mobile. scary q at M1 bugis. thanks a lot to the DH!

otherwise, the week's been rather quiet. however, i went to the bead shops on wednesday and promptly went berserk. so we got me some new things to put up at the shop.

i did try my hands again at making 'claypot' rice with 2 chicken legs. legs had been soaked O/N with chinese rice wine, then a dash of balsamic vinegar, rosemary, sesame seed oil, pepper and salt. i think that's it. east-west fusion marinade. cook rice with salted fish, garlic and soacked mushrooms. when the rice is cooked i added a bit more water plus the chicken and it's sauce. so the rice came out soggy agian. *sighs*
tastes good though. next time need dark soy sauce and less water. gah!
yesterday at NTUC i decided to purchase a bottle of the Manuka honey. when i opened it i thought that it had a wax layer protecting the surface, but i tasted it and realise that it's the honey. i didn't know that the consistency is so thick. it's got a woodsy grassy taste. quite yummy.

this is how the tree looks like now. it's full of odds and ends type of decorations. cool ya?
